Hesus raises €10M from Paris Green Fund, Suez Ventures, and Construction Venture

HESUS, a fast-growing “Greentech” company from the construction sector, announces a €10m fundraising from Paris Green Fund, managed by Demeter and supported by the city of Paris, of which it is the first investment, SUEZ Ventures, SUEZ Group corporate venture, and Construction Venture, Bouygues Construction corporate venture.

Demeter awarded Best ESG Investment Firm of the Year !

During the Private Equity Wire Awards held on March 8 in London, Demeter won the ” Best ESG Investment Firm of the Year ” award, rewarding Demeter for its pioneer and leading role in the sector regarding the integration of Environment Social and Governance criteria in its investment strategy.

Annual event organised by France Invest’s Climate Committee

The Climate Committee of France Invest (former Cleantech Club AFIC), chaired by Sophie Paturle-Guesnerot gathered together on 20 February to take stock of the year 2018 and discuss the outlook for 2019.

The programme of the evening was focused on figures and trends of companies in the sector of ecological transition accompanied by Private Equity in France, Europe and accross the world. Green Univers, the Cleantech Group and the European community came to present their figures and share their vision. The EY-France Invest Climate prizes were also awarded.

Over 100 capital investment professionals, key players in the cleantech ecosystem, met at Tour First for this first evening of 2019 organised in partnership with EY.

The joint presentation with Clémentine Baju from the City of Paris was followed by a Q&A with the public.

The Covenant of Mayors is the world’s largest movement for local climate and energy actions.
The aim of the Investment Forum is to accelerate investment in climate adaptation and sustainable energy, which contribute to clean energy transition and the EU climate and energy targets for 2020 and 2030.

Demeter appoints Stéphanie Chrétien as Chief Sustainability and Impact Officer

Paris, December 4th, 2018 – Demeter, a major European player in venture capital and private equity for the energy and ecological transition, announces the appointment of Stéphanie Chrétien as Chief Sustainability and Impact Officer to reinforce its commitment to combine financial performance and environmental impact.

Since inception in 2005, Demeter has considered social and gouvernance criteria, in addition to environmental criteria (which are addressed by nature by its investment strategy), as key to drive sustainable performance.

Demeter is a responsible and committed investor, therefore joined key initiatives such as PRI (Principle for Responsible Investment), CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), iC20 (France Invest), The Shift Project, etc.

Today, Demeter reinforces this commitment with the appointment of Stéphanie Chrétien as Chief Sustainability and Impact Officer. Stéphanie has been a Partner at Demeter from March 2018, focusing on Paris Green Fund and worked previously at Roland Berger strategy consulting firm.

Sophie Paturle-Guesnerot represented Demeter at the roundtable “Private Equity for Green” as part of the Climate Finance Day 2018.

Sophie put forward Paris Fonds Vert, the fund that was launched by the City of Paris with Demeter.

Holger Schragmann joins Demeter as Partner in charge of the German office

Holger Schragmann joins Demeter as Partner in charge of the German office.

Holger Schragmann, 53, has over 15 years’ experience and a very good track record in Private Equity small / midcap fund management, recently at LEA Partners, previously at Capcellence and IKB. Training engineer, he began his career in strategy consulting and then worked in a service industry ETI.

Holger will initially focus on fund raising for the Paris Green Fund in the Germanic zone before fully dedicating his activity to the fund’s investment and to Demeter’s other activities in Germany.

He will be based in Munster on the same site as Demeter’s strategic partner, eCapital.
